Club Championship Final

Played in Austin Stack Park on Sunday 29th of April

Dr Crokes 1-18 Dingle 1-8

In a game which spilled over at times we ran out winners in the end on a score of 1-18 to 1-08. Both sides suffered set backs during the game. We lost a player through injury in the second half. Our opponents had three players black carded over the hour, two of them in the first half.

We squandered a few gilt edged chances in the early minutes and during the same period the Dingle boys sent over over two points. Before the end of the first quarter we sent over eight points to our opponents one to leave us 0-8 to 0-3 in front. At the start of the second quarter Dingle found our net. This left us just two points in front. We had a great finish to the half (which lasted 35 minutes), scoring five points to our opponents one. This left us six points ahead at half time, 0-13 to 1-4 but we would have to face the strong breeze in the second half.

Scores were slow to come in the second half. We had three points in the third quarter but Dingle found it hard to breach our defence. They had two points in the 55th and 56th minutes. The teams exchanged points just before the 60th minute. This gave us a seven point lead but eight minutes extra time had to be played. We got well on top in additional time, adding on 1-2 without reply for a 1-18 to 1-08 victory.

This was for us a very good team performance. Tweleve of our team got on the score sheet, nine starters and three subs.

It was great to see Gavin White back in action. He came on five minutes after half time and contributed enormously culminating in a last minute goal.

Team and Scorers: Shane Murphy 0-1 (45'), John Payne, Mike Moloney, Fionn Fitzgerald 0-1, Jason Lyne, Alan O'Sullivan, David O'Leary, Daithi Casey 0-1 (free), Johnny Buckley 0-1, Micheal Burns 0-2, Gavin O'Shea, Brian Looney 0-1, Tony Brosnan 0-4, Colm Cooper 0-3 (0-2 frees), Kieran O'Leary 0-2.

Under 16
We played our third Under 16 County League game last Tuesday in Beaufort
We have had many tough battles with our close neighbors over the last few years and this was going to be no different.
Ava Sheahan opened the scoring with a point from play   Beaufort then had 3 on the bounce but a point from Treasa o Sullivan brought them back to 1 point ho ever Beaufort pointed again wit 10 mins to go in the first half putting them up 2. Another Ava Sheahan point and a point and a goal from full forward Jade Potts who was outstanding ensured we ended the half up 3 points.
Beaufort as we knew they would came out fighting in the second half and scored 2-1 without reply to put them up 4 points with 15 mins to go. A Niamh Stack goal helped to start  the comeback and that was followed by another point by Niamh Stack  Beaufort added a point of their own to go 1 up with 5 left to play.   A fantastic free kick from Ava Sheahan tied the game and ensured our u16 girls remain undefeated in the county league.
